MEN’S SKIN CARE, A GEEK’S PERSPECTIVE. Men’s skin care is a growing topic amongst the  Quora  community. Guys want their skin to be healthy and look young. Ladies want their man’s skin to look young and be healthy. The post below talks about why guys should care about their skin and how they should go about the daunting process of finding the right skin care products for their unique needs. Enjoy! WHY SHOULD GUYS GIVE A FOX ABOUT THEIR SKIN? 1. Your Skin is Wonderfully Complex. Skin is the largest and fastest growing organ in the human body (sorry to burst your bubble guys, and ladies). Like your fingerprint, tour skin is unique to you and nobody else. Your skin regulates your body temperature while keeping aggressors (germs & bacteria) out and your insides ‘in’ – we’re talking heart, lungs, blood & muscles here. You even feel things through the nerves in your skin. Your skin is constantly changing in response to intrinsic (i.e. sebum production and ageing) and extri

How can a skinny girl build a big butt?

Image
Let’s face it. A lot of women aren’t satisfied with their “backyard”. But not everyone has the same complaint. Some complain they have a saggy butt, some hate it because of its unevenness. Some are upset because they think they don’t have one(not exactly). Well, your butt; a.k.a. tushie, ass, derriere, caboose, unit, booty, moneymaker, hiney, bum, arse, or fanny. We all have one. So how can we care for it and develop it? Let’s check it out. Genetics Your body type is determined by the genes you inherited from your parents at birth. You can have a pear shaped body that stores fat in the butt or a body type that stores fat in the abdomen and hips. Even if you lose weight and reduce body fat, your body type and overall shape usually remains pretty much the same. Genetics plays a role in the size and shape of your butt and other muscle groups. This is why you will find some women who have naturally bigger busts or butts while other girls are flat all over. This being said, there are

How to get the body you want

Image
63kg is a great starting point. From this point on you must focus on building muscle. Getting ripped abs won’t be easy though. Given your writing it seems that you went back up to 72kg too quickly. Especially since you have only dumbells to work with. With those you can’t really do heavy squats and deadlifts. With dumbells only you probably restrict to rows, presses, extentions and curls. This likely won’t build as much muscle per month. So keep your weight gains down to half to one pound per month or so to prevent putting on too much fat. I had the same issue. I ate too much so my body fat reached near 18% or so. In order to get what you want you need to include compound lifts and good diet. Personally I’m still trying and learning. Perhaps I’m walking the wrong path myself… Lifting Buy a full rack and barbell so that you safely can do squats, pull ups and rackpulls. Or find facilities in your local gym. My home gym Try to workout three times a week, full body. It is sa

How do I get the body I want?

The perfect way to get the body that you want is to identify your goals. first you must know what is the reason why you train. Imagine you are training to perform better in sports. You would be very disappointed if you train purely for muscle gain am I right? But worry not - I will break down two specific goals: 1)Aesthetic  (Bodybuilding, Fat loss, muscle gain) and 2)Athletic Performance  (want to increase my vertical jump, Become better in boxing, powerlifting, strength) Let me explain - There are gonna be some major differences on how you will train depending on which goal you have of the two. For example - cold water immersion is great if your goal is athletic performance but its a bad idea if your goal is muscle gain . Cold immersion stops inflammation which will allow athletes and powerlifters to train more often therefore honing their skills but this same pain relieving effect is bad for bodybuilders and those who train to gain muscle (and for people who want to l

What do I think when you see a skinny kid curling 5kg dumbbells in the gym?

I think about how I used to be that kid. When I first started lifting, I can't tell you how many people told me that I was wasting my time.  Even after 4 years of lifting on my own I still barely looked like I had a gym membership, let alone lifted weights 6-7 days a week.  Every day, I would show up to the gym and look in the mirror, imagining what it would be like to be muscular.  I wanted girls to like me and guys to respect me.  And no matter how much I was told "you'll never get there," I just kept trying. It wasn't until I joined the gym across the street from my college apartment that I really found a community.  One of the big powerlifters saw me show up every night, trying my heart out, and invited me to lift with him.  We ended up becoming amazing friends and lifting partners for years. When I was first lifting with C3 though, his entire crew asked what he was doing.  C3 (Chris) is a big dude:  Chris Craft (@c3muscle) • Instagram photos and vid

How do I become a handsome and attractive guy ?

Here’s how I did it: Before: After: How: Hair - Some hairstyles make a world of difference. Balding? Go completely bald. It looks much better. If not, consult a hairstylist. They’ll help you with what looks good on your face and style. Skin - Take care of your skin. Avoid touching your face. Try products until you find one that clears up acne, dirt, makeup, etc. Facial Hair - A lot of guys look better with stubble or even a full-on beard. Make certain to shave any hair on the neck for a more clean, aesthetically pleasing look. Glasses - You can get some trendy glasses and they’ll still do the trick (I’d recommend Warby Parker for an affordable yet up-to-date look). Plus they’ll help you out with what looks good on your face if you email them. Plus, try their free at-home 5-pair Try-On program! Workout - Get in shape. It affects not just your body but the shape of your face. The more in-shape you become, the more streamlined your face will look. Mindset - The more com

How do I become a handsome and attractive guy?

While getting in shape has been a start-and-stop-and-start-again affair for me over the last couple years, over the long run, I’ve become fitter than ever. I’ve dropped more than 30 pounds altogether (or about 2 stone 6, for the British-inclined among you), I run regularly, I’ve become more consistent with strength training, and I’ve dropped several sizes in clothes. I’m not saying all that to brag. If you saw the details of how I got here, it’s nothing to be proud of — I ran a marathon at the end of 2006 and then did a short triathlon but then stopped exercising altogether for awhile. I became a vegetarian and was eating very healthily (is that a word?) … but then I slowly started eating more junk food and gaining weight. Recently, I dropped sweets from my diet (cakes, pies, donuts, candy, CHOCOLATE!, sodas, etc.), and surprisingly I don’t really miss them. I’ve been exercising with my sister and my wife on alternate days and it’s been great. I still have more pounds to drop,
